Mother Nature smiled kindly on downtown Garden City on Saturday October 15, when the Chamber of Commerce held its 32nd Fall Festival Street Fair combined with Garden City High School’s Homecoming Day Parade on Seventh Street. An all-community day, businesses and many village organizations were showcased, and culinary delights were available from Seventh Street restaurants and eateries. There were plenty of activities for the kids plus bands and other musical entertainment.

For the 4th season, the Garden City Chamber returned to the fabulous Meadowbrook Pointe Town Homes, Villas and Condominiums.
Meadowbrook Pointe once again graciously sponsored and hosted the Chamber's mid-summer After Hours Networking event at its magnificent clubhouse.
The evening was a repeat of past dazzling summer events at Meadowbrook's poolside setting.
The former home of Roosevelt Raceway, Meadowbrook Pointe has raised the standard for adult living with a resort-style community. The facility was built by the Beechwood Organization and is located at 1100 Corporate Drive, Westbury.

Another fabulous Belmont Festival in Garden City! The 12th annual Garden City Festival took place on Seventh Street on Friday evening, June 10 from 6-10 p.m. and featured entertainment, live music, family-friendly activities and a chicken wing contest and lots of great food at local restaurants. Five bands performed at various locations on Seventh Street throughout the evening. They are the Fivestone Rock Bank, Jerry & the Newcomers, New Vintage Swing Band, Speak Easy and the Village Music Makers. Special features included a group of young dancers from Broadway Bound Dance Center and the Fitzpatrick Academy of Irish Dancing. Another treat was Richard Migliore, New York Racing Association TV racing analyst and former jockey who served as the Festival emcee.

On Friday evening, May 13, 2011in the packed grand ballroom of the Garden City Hotel, the Garden City Chamber of Commerce celebrated its ninth annual Pineapple Ball, acknowledged as Garden City’s quintessential event.
Nearly 300 guests turned out to honor NY State Senator Kemp Hannon, as “Citizen of the Year;”Adelphi University’s Angelo “Bill” Proto, recipient of the “Community Achievement Award;” Garden City Property/GC Commercial’s John Wilton, “Business Person of the Year;” and Kings Supermarket’s Connie Deckel, recipient of the newly created “President’s Award.
Additionally, Garden City High School senior Matthew Schlatter was winner of the “Excellence in Business Education Scholarship Award” from the Chamber Foundation, philanthropic arm of the Chamber.
Following the presentation to these remarkable individuals, guests danced the night away to the music of the renowned Chaser band.
NEWLY RENOVATED COUNTY BUILDING IS SETTING FOR CHAMBER EVENT
The Garden City Chamber of Commerce is invited members of both the business and residential communities to its spring After Hours Networking Event on Wednesday evening, April 13, 2011 from 6-8 p.m.
The Chamber had the distinct honor to hold this networking party at the magnificently renovated Theodore Roosevelt County Executive & Legislative Building at 1550 Franklin Ave. The event will be graciously sponsored by the Chamber member firm of Armao, Costa & Ricciardi, CPA’s, P.C. Guests will enjoy wine and an array of elegant hors d’oeuvres.
The renovation of the Old Nassau County Courthouse was celebrated with a grand opening ribbon cutting in February of 2008. The $40 million restoration
preserved the historic principles of the initial design while adapting to the present day requirements of the county. Renamed the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building, highlights include the original architectural features while adding a 25,000 square-foot annex building to house the county executive and legislative chambers.

On Wednesday evening, October 13, 2011 Adelphi University hosted the Garden City Chamber of Commerce’s Fall After Hours Networking Event at its magnificent Center for Sports and Recreation. The setting was the Campbell Lounge which overlooks the 3-court gymnasium capable of converting to an arena with 2,200 seats. Attendees, who networked and exchanged business cards, were treated to an array of sumptuous
hors d’oeuvres and enjoyed tours of both the Center for Recreation and Sports as well as the state of the art Performing Arts Center next door.
