THE NASSAU COUNCIL OF CHAMBERS COORDINATES
VETERANS DISCOUNT PROGRAM

The Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, Inc. is the umbrella organization for more than forty local Chambers of Commerce in Nassau County representing more than six thousand businesses. At a press conference on November 10, the organization announced its “Veterans’ Discount Program” open to all past and present veterans of the U.S. Military.

The Nassau Council is coordinating with the local Chambers and their members to provide discounts from ten to twenty percent off products and services sold throughout Nassau County. Whether a veteran requires a new transmission, new flooring, or wants to have his or her teeth cleaned, for example, the Council anticipates there will be a choice of some 250 quality merchants, businesses and professional members who will participate in the program and offer a variety of products and services while providing discounts from ten to twenty percent, in honor of our veterans’ service to the country. There is no time limit on this program and it is hoped that participants will keep it open indefinitely.

“The members of the Council representing their respective chambers deeply appreciate the service provided by the men and women of our military, and feel that this discount program is the least they can do to show their gratitude,” stated E. Christopher Murray, president of the Nassau Council. Mr. Murray added that the Nassau Council is grateful to the offices of Senator Charles Schumer who informed the Nassau Council of a similar program being run by the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce

“We anticipate that this program will be a great success for our veterans as well as our merchant, retail service and professional Chamber members,” Murray added.
